This highly acclaimed Hotel prides itself on being a respected and progressive employer brand, celebrated for our commitment to employee wellness, the broader community, and the environment.

As we prepare for our busy summer season, we are looking to recruit Seasonal Stewards on a Fixed-Term Contract basis to join our Splash Café team.

The successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the Splash Café kitchen and service areas. This includes ensuring that all utensils, crockery, equipment, and work areas are thoroughly cleaned, sanitised, and readily available to support the smooth and efficient operation of the Café during peak seasonal periods.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Wash and sanitise dishes, crockery, cutlery, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment efficiently.
  2. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the Splash Café kitchen, scullery, storage, and relevant service areas.
  3. Ensure an adequate supply of clean crockery, glassware, cutlery, and utensils is available throughout service.
  4. Assist with the proper disposal of waste and ensure waste areas are kept clean, organised, and hygienic.
  5. Handle and store cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and in accordance with prescribed procedures.
  6. Assist the kitchen and service teams by keeping work and storage areas clean, tidy, and organised during busy service periods.
  7. Adhere to all food hygiene, health and safety, and environmental standards at all times.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric
  • Shift work including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Previous experience in a kitchen cleaning or scullery
  • Satisfactory criminal record, subject to assessment of the nature, severity, relevance, and recency of any offence

Key Competencies:

  • Operates dishwashing machines
  • Kitchen items are thoroughly cleaned & sanitized.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Collaborates with chefs, kitchen staff, and management.
  • Assists with additional kitchen tasks as needed.
  • Follows hygiene and safety standards.
  • Handles cleaning chemicals and equipment safely.
  • Stands for long hours and performs repetitive tasks.
  • Lifts and moves heavy kitchen equipment when necessary
  • Neat and professional
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Work across all areas of the hotel containing guest public spaces i.e. passages, lifts, rest rooms, lobby, lounges, gym.

Fixed-Term Contract Period:

Please note that this is a fixed-term contract position for the period 01 November 2026 to 30 April 2027, and employment will automatically terminate on the contract end date.
