About you

As a Senior Asset Management Officer, you will bring to the role:

  • A proven track record of successfully delivering change projects in a large organisation.
  • Degree qualification, a relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships in complex situations.
  • Be compassionate and have emotional intelligence - possessing excellent leadership and motivational skills to get the best out of people.
  • Experience of identifying creative solutions to complex problems.
  • Build networks based on honesty, trust and respect across a wide range of sectors.
  • Have evidence of working with partners and key stakeholders to deliver change and cross-sector priorities.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to lead a wide range of initiatives.

About the role

As our next Senior Asset Management Officer, you will be responsible for managing and delivering asset and estate related projects working with service leads across the Council Directorates. You will manage and lead the Council’s Community Asset Transfer programme, working in partnership with colleagues across the organisation. Key to this role is working across sectors with a focus on strong, positive relationships, with the ability to negotiate and influence and to problem solve often in complex situations.

The role is integral to our Asset Management team which sits in the Asset Management & Regeneration service in the City Development directorate. The team prides itself on curious thinking, problem solving and is outcome focussed to deliver at pace achieve not only the service objectives but also to contribute to the corporate wide agendas and deliver the Council’s budgets.

The work programme of the team is varied with a current focus on reviewing our locality estate portfolio, making recommendations for change to ensure we are driving an estate which is efficient.
