HGV Class 1 Driver – Tramping – Warrington – £17 Per Hour

People Solutions are currently recruiting for HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our well-established client based in Warrington.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering £17 per hour, Monday-to-Friday tramping work with the possibility of Saturdays, 1–2 nights out per week, weekly pay and ongoing opportunities within an established transport operation.

£17 Per Hour | £25 Per Night Out | Monday to Friday | Weekly Pay | Ongoing Work | New Passes Considered

This position is ideal for applicants who have previously worked as an HGV Class 1 Driver, LGV Class 1 Driver, Category C+E Driver, Articulated Lorry Driver or Tramping Driver.

Newly qualified HGV Class 1 Drivers may be considered if they have substantial HGV Class 2 driving experience.

Shifts

 • Monday to Friday, with the possibility of Saturday working
 • AM starts between 3:00am and 6:00am
 • Tramping role involving 1–2 nights out per week

Rates of Pay

 • £17 per hour
 • £25 per night out
 • No deductions for breaks

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include:

 • Operating Category C+E vehicles safely and efficiently
 • Carrying out pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections
 • Ensuring all goods are loaded and secured correctly
 • Adhering to UK traffic laws and transport regulations
 • Communicating effectively with the transport office and customers
 • Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements
 • Completing deliveries in accordance with operational requirements

Essential Skills

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

 • Valid UK Category C+E Driving Licence
 • No more than six penalty points for minor offences, with no major endorsement codes
 • Valid UK Driver CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
 • Good spoken and written English
 • Excellent punctuality and timekeeping
 • Strong understanding of UK road traffic laws
 • Effective communication skills
 • Availability to complete 1–2 nights out per week

Desirable Experience

 • Previous experience in tramping or long-distance HGV driving
 • Substantial HGV Class 2 experience for newly qualified Class 1 Drivers

Training Provided

 • Driver induction/interview required prior to starting
 • Ongoing industry-related training and support
