TeacherActive is proud to be working with a supportive setting in Derby that is committed to ensuring children with additional needs can access their learning and develop their communication skills. The setting is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant who can provide consistent and individualised support.

The setting is looking to take on a Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis from ASAP until July 2027. The successful Teaching Assistant will support a Deaf child within EYFS, using BSL and Makaton to aid communication, engagement and access to learning throughout the school day.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
• Experience supporting children within an EYFS setting
• Experience supporting children who are Deaf or have hearing impairments
• Knowledge and practical experience of British Sign Language / BSL
• Knowledge and practical experience of Makaton
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach
