What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years' Registered Manager experience working with children within the last 5 years
  • Minimum 2 years' leadership/management experience
  • Minimum 5 years' childcare experience
  • Proven experience working within a residential childcare setting
  • Evidence of achieving a Good Ofsted rating
  • Experience working with children, young people and their families
  • Level 3 or 4 qualification in Children and Young People's Workforce
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services
  • Strong leadership, management and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and take responsibility for the effective management of the home
  • Full UK driving licence

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for the leadership and management of the 2-placement EBD children's home
  • Oversee the effective day-to-day running of the home
  • Ensure the home delivers high-quality care in line with its Statement of Purpose
  • Lead the delivery of care and support to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people
  • Provide strong leadership, direction and support to the residential care team
  • Ensure children are protected and supported with their physical, psychological, emotional and social development
  • Work closely with the Responsible Individual to maintain high standards of care and successful outcomes
  • Manage staffing, performance and day-to-day operational requirements
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with children, families, staff and external professionals
  • Ensure safeguarding, care planning, risk management and regulatory requirements are consistently maintained
  • Support strategic planning and the continued development of the home
  • Monitor quality standards and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Manage resources effectively and contribute to the overall performance of the service
  • Take part in the on-call rota and provide management support when required
  • Work with autonomy while maintaining a strong focus on the organisation's values, ethos and outcomes for children
