TeacherActive is seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to provide supply cover across a variety of inclusive primary schools in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. This supply role offers excellent flexibility and the opportunity to build lasting relationships with local schools. Day-to-day assignments may also develop into longer-term placements when suitable opportunities arise.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEN
• Assist pupils in accessing lessons and the UK curriculum
• Support children with emotional regulation and social development
• Adapt activities to meet individual learning needs
• Promote positive behaviour and foster an inclusive classroom environment
• Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff
• Adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, and allergy procedures

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children with SEN
• Previous work within a UK school or educational setting
• Sound understanding of the UK curriculum
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities
• Awareness of allergies and Benedict’s Law
• An Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service
• Two suitable references covering the last six months
