HGV Class 1 Driver - Shunting - Newbridge, Edinburgh

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver to join our well-established client based in Newbridge, Edinburgh on a full-time ongoing basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver looking for shunting work with excellent rates of pay and long-term opportunities.

You will be responsible for shunting trailers around the yard safely, securely and efficiently before completing the shift with a customer collection.

This would suit applicants who have worked as an LGV Driver, Category CE Driver or Shunter Driver.

Rates of Pay:

• £19.08 per hour basic
• £27.26 per hour overtime

Shift Pattern:

• Monday to Friday
• Start time: 04:00
• Eight-hour shifts

Day-to-Day Duties:

Your duties as an HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver are:

• Moving trailers around the customer yard in a timely and efficient manner
• Carrying out vehicle safety checks before and after each shift
• Ensuring all goods are transported safely and securely
• Completing all required paperwork accurately
• Maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism at all times
• Completing customer collections as required

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver, you will need:

• A valid UK Category CE Driving Licence
• A valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Previous HGV Class 1 driving experience
• Good communication skills
• A reliable, punctual and safety-conscious approach to work
• The ability to work well as part of a team

Training:

• Full paid site induction provided
• Ongoing support throughout your assignment
