TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist setting in Bridgwater supporting students aged 10 to 16, primarily across Key Stage 4. The setting is dedicated to supporting young people who have experienced significant disruption to mainstream education due to complex medical, emotional and psychological difficulties, providing a structured and supportive environment where pupils can rebuild confidence and engage positively with learning.

The setting is looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant ASAP on a full-time, temporary basis. The successful Learning Support Assistant will work closely with pupils, teachers and other support staff to provide consistent classroom and individual support, helping students overcome barriers to learning, participate in lessons and work towards their individual academic, social and emotional goals.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people in an education or support setting
• Experience working with pupils who have additional emotional, medical or psychological needs is desirable
• The ability to support students primarily across Key Stage 4
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
