Veterinary Nurse – North London

Are you a confident, experienced RVN who enjoys working in a busy, hands-on practice where no two days are the same?

This independent North London practice is looking for an enthusiastic Veterinary Nurse to join its established team. It’s a fast-paced environment, so this is a role for someone who is confident in their nursing ability, enjoys being kept busy and is happy to get stuck in.

Why Join?

• Salary up to £35,000 (DOE)
• 4 days per week with approximately 9–9.5-hour working days, plus around 9 Saturdays per year
• No OOH, with Saturday shifts being consult-only
• A genuinely busy and varied caseload where you’ll have plenty of opportunity to use and develop your nursing skills
• Professional membership fees paid, alongside 4 weeks’ holiday, increasing to 5 weeks after 2 years’ service

The Role

You’ll be joining a well-established team of 6 Veterinary Surgeons and 6 RVNs, working alongside a wider nursing team in a busy independent practice.

We’re looking for an RVN who is a good all-rounder and confident across the day-to-day responsibilities of a busy first-opinion practice. You’ll also be someone who is happy to support VCA and less experienced nursing colleagues when they need an extra hand.

Strong client communication skills are essential. You’ll be dealing directly with clients and their pets throughout the day, so we’re looking for someone who can communicate clearly, professionally and with empathy.

The practice is busy, and they are upfront about that — this isn’t a role for the faint-hearted. However, for the right nurse, it’s an opportunity to become an important part of an established team, work with a varied caseload and continue developing clinically.

The Practice

The practice is well equipped with a range of modern diagnostic and clinical facilities, including:

• Ultrasound
• Endoscopy/scopes
• Digital X-ray
• Dental X-ray
• In-house laboratory facilities

• Has solid general practice experience
• Is a capable all-rounder who enjoys a varied workload
• Is confident supporting less experienced nursing/VCA staff
• Has excellent client communication skills
• Can work effectively as part of a team
• Is comfortable taking responsibility and working independently when required
• Is keen to continue developing their clinical skills
• Doesn't mind working in a busy, fast-paced practice
