Sales Consultant | Harrow | Full Time | Monday to Friday, 9:30am–5:30pm | £28,000–£30,000 per annum

Our client is a specialist tour operator based in Harrow, London, offering tailor-made holidays and specialist tours across destinations including India, Maldives, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and Southeast Asia. With 30 years of bespoke tour operations, they have built their reputation on destination expertise and personalised service.

The Role

As a Sales Consultant, you will take enquiries, understand exactly what each client is looking for and turn their requirements into a beautifully tailored holiday.

You will use your sales ability, destination knowledge and passion for travel to build trust with clients, design bespoke itineraries and convert enquiries into confirmed bookings.

The role is primarily focused on inbound sales, although there will also be an expectation to proactively generate business during quieter periods.

Key Responsibilities

• Take and convert inbound enquiries into confirmed bookings
• Build relationships with clients and understand their individual requirements
• Design bespoke itineraries tailored to each client's needs
• Sell the value of the experience rather than simply competing on price
• Take a consultative approach throughout the sales process
• Proactively generate business when required
• Use destination knowledge to advise clients on Asian destinations
• Manage existing client relationships
• Work closely with the existing sales team

Requirements

Essential

• Approximately 3–4 years' relevant sales experience
• Previous experience within the travel industry
• Experience in tailor-made or specialist travel
• Strong sales ability, with a proven ability to convert inbound enquiries into sales
• Experience selling high-value or bespoke products or services
• Consultative rather than transactional sales experience
• New business/proactive sales experience
• Existing client relationship management experience
• Knowledge of Asian destinations
• Genuine passion and enthusiasm for travel
• Confident and personable
• Driven, ambitious and hungry to succeed
• A simple and straightforward approach to working
