School Welfare Officer / School Nurse Location: Brent, North West London A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Brent is looking for a dedicated School Welfare Officer / School Nurse to join its pastoral and student support team from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to use their healthcare or welfare experience within an education setting. The school is looking for someone who can provide a calm, reassuring presence for pupils throughout the school day, dealing with everything from minor injuries and illnesses to ongoing medical needs and student wellbeing. The Role As the School Welfare Officer / School Nurse, you will be responsible for supporting the health, safety and welfare of pupils across the school. Your responsibilities will include:
Who Are We Looking For? The successful candidate will be compassionate, professional and confident working independently. Previous experience as a School Nurse, Welfare Officer, Healthcare Assistant, Nurse, First Aider, Medical Administrator or similar healthcare/welfare professional would be highly advantageous. You should have:
A formal nursing qualification would be welcomed but is not essential, provided you have suitable experience and the appropriate first aid/healthcare knowledge for the position.
