Early Years Practitioner – Level 3

Location: Bicknacre / Danbury, Essex
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract: Full-time / Part-time opportunities available
Qualification: Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification required

We are currently recruiting for a passionate and dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join a welcoming and community-focused nursery setting across Bicknacre and Danbury.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic Early Years professional who is committed to providing high-quality care, education and learning experiences for young children.

The successful candidate will become an important part of the nursery team, helping to create a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment where children feel confident to explore, learn and develop.

The setting takes a child-led approach to learning, with a strong focus on Curiosity, Hygge, Loose Parts, Forest-Led and Montessori-inspired play. The team also places a strong emphasis on school readiness, helping children develop the skills, confidence and independence they need for their transition into school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality care, education and support to children in the early years
  • Create a safe, stimulating and nurturing learning environment
  • Support children's individual development, learning and wellbeing
  • Plan and deliver engaging activities based around children's interests and development
  • Follow the EYFS framework and contribute to children's learning journeys
  • Encourage curiosity, creativity, independence and exploration
  • Support child-led and outdoor learning opportunities
  • Develop positive and professional relationships with children, parents and colleagues
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding and child protection
  • Complete observations and contribute to assessments and individual learning plans
  • Support the nursery's school-readiness programme
  • Work effectively as part of a wider Early Years team
  • Contribute to the continued development of excellent practice within the setting

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds a minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years / Childcare
  • Has previous experience working within a nursery or early years setting
  • Has a strong understanding of the EYFS
  • Has a genuine passion for working with young children
  • Is enthusiastic, reliable and highly motivated
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Is creative and enjoys developing engaging learning opportunities
  • Understands the importance of safeguarding and children's wellbeing
  • Is committed to providing outstanding care and education
  • Can work effectively within a team and build strong relationships with children and families
