An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and organised Office & Finance Manager to join a well-established manufacturing business on a fixed-term maternity cover contract.

This is a varied and hands-on role where you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day finance function while supporting the wider business with administration, payroll, HR and operational tasks. The successful candidate will be proactive, highly organised and confident managing multiple priorities in a busy office environment.

Key Responsibilities

Finance & Bookkeeping

  • Manage the day-to-day bookkeeping function.
  • Complete bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Process purchase and sales ledger invoices.
  • Manage payment runs and employee expenses.
  • Monitor the Director's Loan Account (DLA).
  • Chase outstanding customer payments.
  • Produce financial reports, including sales, cash flow and project profitability.
  • Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.

Payroll Support

  • Process weekly workshop timesheets.
  • Record office overtime.
  • Complete payroll journals using Sage 50 Accounts.
  • Respond to employee payroll-related queries.

Sales & Project Administration

  • Arrange meetings and manage the Director's diary where required.
  • Assist with project costing and supplier cost checks.
  • Prepare and issue quotations.
  • Follow up outstanding quotations.
  • Respond to customer enquiries.
  • Maintain up-to-date pricing information.
  • Arrange business travel, including hotels and transport.

HR Administration

  • Prepare new starter documentation.
  • Maintain employee holiday and absence records.
  • Take meeting notes when required.
  • Keep HR records up to date.
  • Support recruitment activities.

Health & Safety Administration

  • Assist with Health & Safety administration.
  • Chase outstanding compliance paperwork.
  • Coordinate employee e-learning and training.
  • Arrange servicing, inspections and compliance requirements.

General Office Duties

  • Order office supplies and stationery.
  • Arrange MOTs and servicing for company vehicles.
  • Assist with insurance renewals.
  • Provide administrative support to the Director and wider team as required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous bookkeeping or finance experience.
  • Experience using Sage 50 Accounts.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • The ability to prioritise a varied workload and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to work independently.

Upon expiry of that period the Company may seek further consent from you. Where consent is not granted the Company will cease to process your personal data and sensitive personal data. 3.
