SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary (Nottingham)

We’re currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Primary School in Nottingham on a long-term basis starting in September.

This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced TA who is passionate about supporting children with SEND and helping them overcome barriers to learning.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Providing tailored one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND

• Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and participate in classroom activities

• Delivering targeted learning and development interventions

• Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour

• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO

• Encouraging independence, confidence and positive social interaction

• Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff

• Creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment

Requirements or Skills:

• Recent experience working with children in a school or educational setting

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND is highly desirable

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable

• Understanding of autism, ADHD, SEMH or other additional needs is advantageous

• Calm, patient and nurturing approach

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience and the requirements of the assignment.
