RE Teacher – Greenwich

Milk Education are working in partnership with a forward-thinking and inclusive secondary school in Greenwich to appoint an inspiring RE Teacher for a September start. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate RE Teacher to join a supportive Humanities faculty and help students develop an understanding of different religions, beliefs, values and ethical issues in today's diverse society.

The successful RE Teacher will teach Religious Education across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging lessons that encourage discussion, critical thinking and respect for different perspectives. The school places a strong emphasis on personal development, inclusion and preparing students to become thoughtful, informed and responsible citizens.

The Role:

  • Planning and delivering engaging Religious Education lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Working as an RE Teacher to encourage curiosity, reflection and critical thinking
  • Teaching a broad curriculum covering world religions, ethics and philosophy
  • Supporting students to develop analytical, evaluative and discussion skills
  • Preparing pupils for GCSE examinations and supporting strong academic outcomes
  • Assessing, monitoring and tracking student progress effectively
  • Contributing to curriculum development and wider Humanities initiatives
  • Creating an inclusive learning environment where all viewpoints are respected

The Ideal Candidate:

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching Religious Education within a secondary school setting
  • Strong subject knowledge of religious studies, ethics and philosophy
  • Ability to deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons
  • Excellent classroom management skills
  • Commitment to raising attainment and student achievement
  • ECTs and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply

Essential Requirements:

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Two professional references covering the last two years
  • Recent experience teaching Religious Education within UK secondary schools
