SEMH Teacher

Stockport | September Start | £170 - £250 per day

Are you a passionate and resilient qualified teacher looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people? We are recruiting on behalf of a supportive specialist setting in Stockport seeking an experienced SEMH Teacher to join their dedicated team.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work with students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning while building confidence, resilience, and a positive attitude towards education.

The Role

• Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of students with SEMH.

• Create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment where students can thrive.

• Develop positive relationships that encourage engagement, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.

• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral teams, and external professionals to support student progress.

• Implement effective behaviour management strategies to promote positive outcomes.

• Monitor, assess, and report on student progress, adapting teaching approaches where required.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (essential).

• Experience teaching within a UK school, with experience supporting students with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour highly desirable.

• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.

• A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach to teaching.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
