Milk Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Hartlepool to recruit a passionate and dedicated English Teacher for a full-time, long-term supply position starting in September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to join a thriving English department, delivering engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience. The role is expected to continue for the full academic year, offering consistency and the opportunity to become an integral part of the school community.

The Role

  • Deliver engaging and creative English Language and English Literature lessons.
  • Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student achievement and wellbeing.
  • Uphold the school's behaviour and safeguarding policies.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Has experience teaching English in a UK secondary school.
  • Demonstrates strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Has excellent subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring young people.
  • Is committed, reliable and able to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • ECTs and experienced teachers are both encouraged to apply.
