TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEMH secondary school in Ipswich that is seeking an enthusiastic and committed PE Teacher to join their team from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, using sport and physical education to build confidence, resilience and positive relationships.

The Role:

As the successful PE Teacher, you will:

• Deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons to KS3 and KS4 pupils.
• Adapt lessons to meet the individual needs of pupils with SEMH needs.
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and self-confidence through physical activity.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement and progress.
• Assess, monitor and report on pupil progress.
• Organise and support extracurricular sports and enrichment activities where appropriate.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals to support pupils' academic and personal development.
• Create a safe, structured and supportive learning environment where every pupil can succeed.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching PE at secondary level.
• Experience working with pupils with SEMH, SEND or challenging behaviour is desirable.
• Excellent behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
• A calm, patient and resilient approach.
• A passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
