Job Title:       Accounts Assistant
Location:       Worcester 
Hours:           Flexible around 30 to 37.5 Hours/Permanent
Early finish:  Finish at 1.30pm on Fridays
Salary:          £30,000 - £38,000 per annum (FTE)

My lovely client is looking for a proactive and commercially minded Assistant Accountant to join their growing business in Worcester.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to play a key role within a well-established manufacturing company, supporting day-to-day finance operations while helping improve processes, reporting, and efficiency across the finance function.

Working closely with the Finance Director, you will support a broad range of accounting responsibilities including:

Key Responsibilities

• Accounts payable and receivable
• Bank reconciliations, petty cash, and expenses
• VAT returns and HMRC compliance
• Weekly and monthly payroll processing
• Month-end support including accruals and prepayments
• Management reporting and financial analysis
• Process improvement and finance system efficiencies

About You

• Previous experience within an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role
• Strong understanding of UK accounting, VAT, and payroll
• Experience using Sage and advanced Excel skills
• Proactive mindset with strong attention to detail
• Excellent organisational and communication skills

Desirable

• Manufacturing or engineering sector experience
• Some HR administration experience
• AAT Level 3/4 qualified or equivalent
