About Milk Education:

Milk Education is a purpose-driven supply agency dedicated to placing passionate, driven individuals into schools where they can make a real difference. We specialise in supporting SEN and SEMH settings, working with schools that focus on inclusion, early intervention, and positive outcomes for young people.

The Role:

Milk Education is recruiting for an Aspiring Gang Prevention Officer to work within a classroom-based setting, supporting students at risk of exclusion, exploitation, or involvement in gangs. This is a hands-on role ideal for individuals looking to build a career in youth work, youth justice, or safeguarding.

You will be working closely with vulnerable young people in SEN and SEMH schools, helping them stay engaged in education while developing the resilience and life skills needed to make positive choices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring for students with behavioural and SEMH needs
  • Support students within the classroom to remain focused, engaged, and on task
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students who may be disengaged from education
  • Deliver and support sessions around gang awareness, consequences, and positive alternatives
  • Promote emotional regulation, resilience, and positive decision-making
  • Use de-escalation strategies to manage challenging behaviour effectively
  • Support reintegration into lessons and encourage consistent attendance
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
  • Monitor and report on student progress, behaviour, and wellbeing
  • Act as a positive role model, encouraging respect and accountability

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Individuals with a background in youth work, sports coaching, mentoring, or support work
  • Passionate about working with young people and making a difference
  • Resilient, confident, and able to build rapport with challenging students
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • Interest in careers such as youth justice, social work, or gang prevention
  • Experience with SEMH/SEN needs is desirable but not essential
