Behaviour Support Assistant

We are currently seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to join a Primary School based in North Durham. This is a great role for someone who wants to become a familiar face in schools that value consistency.

Main Responsibilities:

• Monitor behaviour in the classroom and reinforce positive conduct
• Encouraging independence by helping pupils develop communication and self-management skills
• Supporting learners by providing one-to-one or small group assistance
• Inspire children to engage in lessons consistently
• Maintaining safeguarding and confidentiality, following school policies

Requirements or Skills:

• Positive attitude and enthusiasm for supporting children’s learning
• Patience and a calm approach to assisting others
  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar — or equivalent hands-on experience (preferred)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Recent experience working in a school or education setting (preferred)
