HR Administrator (Part-Time)

Location: Reading town centre - RG1

Salary: £32,000 Pro Rata
Hours: Part-Time, circa 20 hours per week, worked across 4 or 5 days (Monday to Friday)

About the Role

We are seeking an organised and proactive HR Administrator to support the People & Culture team across a number of local businesses. This is a varied administrative role focused on maintaining accurate HR records, supporting employee lifecycle processes, coordinating onboarding activities, and providing day-to-day HR support to managers and employees.

This position would suit someone with previous HR Administration experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering excellent administrative support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases.
  • Prepare employment contracts, offer letters, and other HR documentation.
  • Support onboarding activities, ensuring all new starter paperwork is completed and processed.
  • Coordinate induction schedules and training administration.
  • Monitor probation review dates and assist managers with administration relating to probation periods.
  • Manage employee files, ensuring compliance with GDPR and company policies.
  • Support absence management administration, including recording sickness and holiday information.
  • Assist with HR reporting, data collection, and maintaining personnel records.
  • Provide administrative support for HR projects and initiatives.
  • Respond to employee queries and provide general HR administrative support.
  • Coordinate interview scheduling and support recruitment administration when required.
  • Liaise with external recruitment agencies regarding vacancies and candidate information.
  • Support the People & Culture team with policy updates, communications, and employee engagement activities.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Previous experience within an HR Administration, People Administration, or HR Assistant role.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally.

Desirable:

  • CIPD Level 3 qualification or working towards.
  • Experience using HR systems or databases.
  • Previous experience within logistics, transport, or a multi-site business environment.
