Secondary Cover Supervisors / QTS Supply Teachers needed in Walsall / Brownhills

TeacherActive have a long standing relationship with an small local mainstream secondary school, on the look out for teachers to help cover lessons in their school! The school are welcoming and supportive to all new cover supervisors joining them, whether it is daily or for long term roles. We have received nothing but great feedback about this school and their ability to support the supply staff. 

So what's so great about being a cover supervisor you ask? - NO subject knowledge is necessary, we simply need educators with strong classroom management to manage the class and ensure on track behaviour with work that is pre set by the department. Training is provided by ourselves with tips and tricks to put into practice yourselves! Likewise if you hold QTS , You till still recieve teacher pay rates to cover the lessons but wont take home the planning and marking duties. 

Key Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor include:

  • Supervise and support students during lessons and activities.
  • Implement pre-prepared lesson plans in the absence of the regular teacher.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Manage behaviour effectively and apply the school's behaviour management policies.
  • Build rapport with students and provide guidance to encourage personal and academic development.

Requirements to be a Cover Supervisor :

  • Experience working in an educational setting that we can reference proof of working alongside children and young people. Sports or kids clubs coaches also count as childcare based references!
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to different learning styles and individual needs.
  • Resilience and a passion for supporting students facing challenges.
