TeacherActive is proud to be working with SEND provisions across Mansfield who are looking for a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant. These specialist settings support children and young people with Autism / ASD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs, providing tailored support to help pupils develop their confidence, independence and engagement with learning.

The SEN Teaching Assistant will initially work on a day-to-day basis, with opportunities to secure long-term positions within local SEND provisions. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will support pupils with ASD and SEMH needs, assisting with classroom activities, managing challenging behaviours and helping students access their learning in a safe and supportive environment.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable

• Experience working with children or young people with additional needs

• Experience supporting pupils with ASD and/or SEMH

• Strong behaviour management and communication skills

• A patient, caring and resilient approach

• Flexibility and the ability to adapt to different learning environments
