TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming specialist school in Bridgwater, supporting children and young people aged 4 to 19, with Autism / ASD being the primary need. The school benefits from a fantastic modern environment, including a swimming pool, sensory rooms, trampoline room, soft play room and on-site parking, as well as goats and a sheep on site which pupils can interact with as part of their learning and development.

The school is looking to take on a Learning Support Assistant on a flexible temporary basis, with both full-time and part-time opportunities available. The successful Learning Support Assistant will be comfortable supporting different age groups and will work closely with pupils to encourage their learning, development, independence and engagement throughout the school day.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs, particularly Autism / ASD
• Confidence working with pupils across a wide age range from 4 to 19
• A patient, caring and supportive approach
• The ability to adapt to the individual needs of pupils
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility and a positive ‘can-do’ attitude
