We are currently recruiting for a Security Officer to join the G4S team, working for a well known-site in the Berkeley, Gloucestershire area!

Join a mission-critical team. As a Security Officer for G4S, you aren't just guarding a gate; you are protecting a high-stakes site. This is a career defined by stability, specialised training, and professional purpose.

We are looking for a rare type of individual for a role where previous experience is not essential, as we'll support the right candidate with training. Someone who cares about security. Has excellent attention to detail, appreciates that risk exists and is vigilant enough to spot it and take relevant actions, quickly and professionally, to deal with it.

Contract Information:
Location: Berkeley, GL13 9PA
Hours: 40 hours per week
Hourly Wage: £14.88 per hour
Shift Pattern: 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off (12 hour shifts)
Licensing Requirements: You must hold a valid SIA licence (either a Door Supervisor or Security Guarding licence). SIA training can be provided to a suitable candidate.

Applicants must hold a full UK Manual Driving Licence.

You must have lived in the UK for a minimum of 5 years due to enhanced security screening and will be able to prove a 5-year checkable work history and provide character references.

Why Join Our Team?
- Industry-Leading Stability: This role offers job security that traditional commercial security cannot match.
- Structured Work-Life Balance: Our predictable "4-on, 4-off" shift patterns (including days, nights, and weekends) allow you to plan your personal life months in advance.
- Full Professional Development: We provide and fund specialised site-specific inductions. For the right candidates, G4S will even fund your SIA training.

We know the vetting process for a high-security site is thorough. That's why we've implemented a "Fast-Track" Tranche 1 Onboarding system. You'll be invited to complete your mandatory induction and provide bank details immediately after your interview, ensuring you are "site-ready" as soon as your clearance is confirmed.

Your Time at Work

As a Security Officer your duties will include:

Our Perfect Worker

Our perfect worker will be able to:

- Communicate confidently at all levels in both written and spoken English.
- Follow specific procedures and instructions accurately.
- Have experience in utilising IT and computer systems efficiently.
- Undertake shift work flexibly as required.
- Conducting high-vigilance internal and external patrols to ensure the integrity of the site.
- Managing complex access control for staff, contractors, and visitors in line with strict regulatory standards.
- Respond to incidents with precision and teamwork following elite standards.
- Serve as a professional ambassador for both G4S and our client, delivering service excellence at all times.
- No two days are the same on site-you might be handling a medical emergency one day and demonstrating a contingency exercise to a regulator the next.
- Finally, you must be continuously focused on providing excellent service to our customers by being efficient, flexible and security conscious at all times

Please note you must be over the age of 18 to apply for this role.
