KPI Education is recruiting an ambitious and compassionate Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an inclusive London secondary school for the 2026/27 academic year.

This opportunity is particularly suited to Psychology graduates who want substantial experience working with young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Rather than simply observing, you'll work directly with pupils and become part of the school's established inclusion provision.

What Will You Actually Be Doing?

No two pupils — or days — will be exactly the same.

You could spend the morning supporting a pupil with an EHCP during lessons before delivering a structured intervention with a small group later in the day.

You'll help pupils break down difficult tasks, develop organisation and study skills, regulate emotions, improve communication and become increasingly independent within the classroom.

Depending on the school's needs, you may support young people with autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, cognition and learning needs, or social, emotional and mental health needs.

You'll also monitor progress, share observations with relevant staff and develop an understanding of how different professionals work together to support a young person's education.

Who Are We Looking For?

You should hold a Psychology degree, ideally at 2:1 or First-Class level, and have a genuine interest in understanding and supporting young people.

Previous experience with SEN is advantageous, but it isn't essential.

What's more important is your patience, emotional maturity, reliability and communication skills. You'll need to build positive professional relationships while understanding that progress can look very different for every pupil.
