METERING DATA OPERATIVE | FULL TIME | BURY | £27,000 | MONDAY TO FRIDAY | 8:30 – 17:00

We are currently recruiting for a Metering Data Operative to join a busy and growing energy operation based in Bury.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, detail-focused and proactive individual to join a customer-focused team. The role will involve supporting the management of a metering portfolio, working with metering partners and internal and external stakeholders, as well as managing industry processes, data queries and meter reading requirements.

The successful candidate will have strong communication and organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a busy environment while working to tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all meter and Automatic Meter Reader (AMR) installations, exchanges, removals and asset update data flows.

• Ensure all relevant data sources and systems are aligned and accurately maintained.

• Ensure appointments and de-appointments are accurate and up to date.

• Investigate and resolve issues arising from incorrect meter and/or AMR data.

• Manage and resolve industry meter reading rejections.

• Liaise with customers, metering partners, reading agencies, other energy suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve meter and data queries.

• Support AMR and Smart Meter rollout activity.

• Ensure meter readings are obtained and submitted to the industry within the required timescales.

• Process industry file flows to ensure accurate supply point data at both industry and supplier level.

• Maintain high levels of customer service and support operational and sales functions.

• Produce regular and ad-hoc reports.

• Ensure all processes are completed accurately, efficiently and within agreed deadlines.

• Identify issues and take appropriate action to resolve them.

• Confident communicating with both internal and external stakeholders.

• Ability to persuade, influence and negotiate effectively.

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Advantageous Experience

• Previous experience within an energy supplier or energy-related operations environment.

• Advanced Microsoft Office and Excel skills.

• Experience working with a Meter Asset Manager (MAM), Meter Operator (MOP) or similar third-party energy agent.

• Previous experience working with metering data, industry processes or meter reading systems.
