We're looking for an experienced MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician to join a busy and friendly automotive workshop in Stockport. This is an excellent opportunity for a Level 3 qualified technician who wants a varied role where you can utilise your MOT licence while also carrying out servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs.
 
You'll need to be flexible and comfortable working in a busy environment, switching between MOT testing and technician duties depending on the daily workload.

The Role
As an MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician, you'll carry out MOT tests while supporting the workshop with servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs when MOT demand is quieter.
 
Your responsibilities will include:
·Carrying out MOT Testing to DVSA standards
·Testing tyres, wheel alignment, exhausts and batteries
·Inspecting suspension and braking systems
·Carrying out basic and advanced mechanical repairs
·Diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults
·Completing servicing and routine maintenance
·Switching between MOT Testing and technician duties according to workshop demand
·Maintaining accurate records and ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards
·Working efficiently without compromising workmanship
·Carrying out vehicle inspections and identifying additional work required
·Ensuring vehicles are completed within agreed timescales
·Delivering excellent customer service
 
About You
We're looking for a qualified and experienced MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician who is flexible, hardworking and takes pride in delivering quality workmanship.
 
You will ideally have:
·Valid MOT Tester Licence - Class 4
·Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent
·Previous experience as an MOT Tester, Vehicle Technician or Vehicle Mechanic
·Strong knowledge of servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs
·Good fault-finding and diagnostic ability
·Experience working to DVSA MOT standards
·A positive and flexible approach to your workload
·Excellent attention to detail
·Ability to maintain productivity while maintaining high-quality standards
·Strong customer service skills
·Ability to work effectively as part of a team
·Full UK Driving Licence

This is a great opportunity for a Class 4 MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician looking for a varied role in Stockport offering a £33,000 basic salary with £35,000 OTE.
