TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist setting in Weston-super-Mare supporting children and young people aged 4 to 18 with complex barriers to learning. The setting provides a personalised, creative and child-centred education, with a strong focus on building self-esteem, encouraging personal development and helping pupils become confident and valued members of their community.

The setting is looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant from September on a full-time, temporary basis. The successful Learning Support Assistant will support pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties / MLD and associated needs, including Autism / ASD, ADHD and Speech, Language and Communication Needs / SLCN, providing tailored classroom and individual support to promote learning, emotional regulation, social development and independence.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with additional learning needs
• Experience supporting pupils with MLD, Autism / ASD, ADHD and/or SLCN
• Experience supporting emotional regulation and personal development
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A patient, caring and child-centred approach
• A positive and flexible attitude with the ability to adapt support to individual needs
