Residential Childcare Worker

Salary: £14.25 - £17 per hour

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist residential provision in Hereford supporting young people aged 11-19 with Severe Learning Difficulties, Autism and mental health needs. The setting provides a safe, supportive and nurturing environment where young people are encouraged to develop independence, communication skills and positive relationships.

The provision is looking to appoint a Residential Childcare Worker on both permanent and flexible temporary opportunities, with an immediate start available. The successful Residential Childcare Worker will support young people within the residential home and school environment, providing personal care, emotional support, promoting independence and helping young people access daily activities. Sleep-in shifts will also be required.

The successful Residential Childcare Worker will have:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND

• Experience supporting young people with Autism / ASD

• Experience supporting individuals with Severe Learning Difficulties and/or mental health needs

• A good understanding of safeguarding and promoting young people's wellbeing

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

• A patient, resilient and caring approach
