TeacherActive is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to provide supply cover at a friendly primary school in the NG9 area.

The school fosters a positive, nurturing environment where pupils feel valued, heard and encouraged to embrace new challenges. Staff collaborate closely to celebrate achievements, promote responsible choices and support every child in reaching their full potential.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEN
• Assisting pupils in accessing lessons and the UK curriculum
• Supporting children’s emotional regulation and social development
• Adapting activities to meet individual learning needs
• Promoting positive behaviour and fostering an inclusive classroom atmosphere
• Collaborating closely with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff
• Following safeguarding, health and safety, and allergy procedures

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children with SEN
• Previous experience within a UK school or educational setting
• A sound understanding of the UK curriculum
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities
• Awareness of allergies and Benedict’s Law
• An Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service
• Two suitable references covering the last six months
