KPI Education is recruiting Graduate Academic Mentors for a selection of excellent secondary schools across Hertfordshire.

We are looking for high-calibre graduates from a variety of academic disciplines who want to spend the next academic year immersed in school life. These positions are particularly suited to graduates considering teaching, education or other careers working with young people.

Rather than taking a generic graduate job, this is your opportunity to put your academic ability to work from day one.

Graduate Academic Mentor – Key Facts

• Multiple opportunities across Hertfordshire
• £25,000 – £30,000 per annum or minimum £550 per week
• Full-time, Monday to Friday
• Fixed-term for 1 academic year
• Opportunities to extend
• Roles available across a selection of secondary schools
• Suitable for graduates in English, Maths, Science, Humanities, Languages and other academic subjects
• Deliver 1:1 and small-group academic interventions
• Support pupils across KS3 and KS4, with some KS5 opportunities
• Help GCSE students with revision, subject knowledge and examination technique
• Excellent experience before teacher training, PGCE or other routes into education

As a Graduate Academic Mentor, you'll be matched with a school where your academic background can have the greatest impact.

Your role will focus on helping pupils close knowledge gaps, build confidence and raise attainment.

You could work with students who are currently below their target grades, provide intensive GCSE intervention or challenge high-achieving pupils aiming for Grades 7–9.

This is not about sitting quietly at the back of a classroom.

Schools want graduates who can explain ideas, ask intelligent questions, motivate pupils and become credible academic role models.

Choose Education Before Choosing Teacher Training

If teaching is on your career radar, spending an academic year working in a school can be invaluable.

You'll experience the realities of education first-hand, learning about classroom management, lesson delivery, assessment, intervention and pupil progress while working alongside experienced teachers.

Who Are We Looking For?

We're particularly keen to hear from graduates with a 2:1 or First-Class degree and a strong academic record.

You could be a recent graduate, Master's graduate or someone who has decided that a corporate graduate scheme isn't the right path.

What matters is that you're academically capable, articulate, dependable and genuinely interested in helping young people succeed.
