Graduate Learning Support Assistant Are you a high-achieving graduate looking for a meaningful first step into education? Do you want to gain hands-on experience supporting young people while learning from experienced teachers and pastoral professionals? Perhaps you're considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, SEN, pastoral support or another area of education? KPI Education is recruiting an enthusiastic and academically strong Graduate Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Barnet, North London. This is an opportunity to spend a full academic year making a genuine difference to pupils while developing the practical experience that can be invaluable for a long-term career working with young people. Graduate Learning Support Assistant – Key Facts
Make a Difference Every Day As a Graduate Learning Support Assistant, you'll work with pupils who need additional support to access the curriculum and fulfil their academic potential. Some students may require help understanding a particular topic or organising their work. Others may benefit from consistent encouragement, academic mentoring or additional support with literacy, numeracy and study skills. Your role will be to identify barriers, build confidence and help pupils become increasingly independent learners. You'll work closely with classroom teachers to adapt your approach to individual pupils, while developing a strong understanding of how different young people learn. Why Join This Barnet School? This successful secondary school has developed a culture centred around high expectations, inclusion and individual progress. The school recognises that outstanding education isn't simply about examination results. It's also about ensuring every pupil has the support and encouragement required to succeed. Graduate support staff are treated as an important part of the school community. You'll have opportunities to observe experienced teachers, understand different approaches to learning and behaviour, and build meaningful relationships with pupils over the academic year. For graduates considering a future in education, this provides an exceptional opportunity to learn from the inside rather than simply observing from the outside. Who Are We Looking For? We're looking for an intelligent, compassionate and proactive graduate who is genuinely motivated by helping young people progress. You'll ideally hold a 2:1 or First-Class degree and have a strong academic background. Previous experience working with children or young people is beneficial but not essential. More importantly, you'll need patience, emotional intelligence, excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive professional relationships. Whether your future lies in teaching, educational psychology, SEN, counselling or pastoral education, this role can provide the practical school-based experience you need to take your next step with confidence.
