Part-Time Playworker – Breakfast, After School & Holiday Club

Location: Bicknacre, Essex
Hours: Monday–Wednesday or Monday–Thursday, all year round
Contract: Part-time

Are you energetic, creative and passionate about working with children?

We are looking for a fun, confident and proactive Playworker to join a welcoming and dedicated children’s club in Bicknacre. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys creating exciting experiences, building positive relationships and making a real difference to children’s lives.

The successful Playworker will support children across breakfast club, after-school club and holiday club sessions, helping to create a safe, engaging and enjoyable environment where children can learn, play and build lasting memories.

The Role

As a Playworker, you will:

  • Support the day-to-day running of breakfast, after-school and holiday club sessions
  • Create fun, engaging and age-appropriate activities for children
  • Encourage children to participate in games, creative activities, sports and outdoor play
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with children
  • Support children’s wellbeing, development and individual needs
  • Ensure children are supervised and kept safe at all times
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety and club policies
  • Help create a welcoming, inclusive and positive environment
  • Support with school collections and transport during term time

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate about working with children
  • Fun, enthusiastic and full of energy
  • Confident and proactive
  • Creative and able to bring new ideas and activities to the club
  • Reliable, responsible and well organised
  • A positive role model for children
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Previous experience working with children is desirable

Essential Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Access to your own car, as you will be required to collect and transport children from local schools during term time
  • Previous experience working with children is desirable
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare
