TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist school in Street, Somerset, supporting students aged 11 to 19 with a range of additional learning needs. Guided by its Learning for Life ethos, the school provides a welcoming and inclusive environment where every student is encouraged to build confidence, develop independence and gain the skills they need to succeed in education and beyond.

The school is looking to appoint a Qualified Teacher (QTS) on a full-time, long-term basis from September, with the potential for a permanent position for the right Qualified Teacher. The successful Qualified Teacher will deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of students with SEND, working closely with experienced support staff to promote academic progress, confidence and personal development. Previous experience working within SEND is desirable but not essential, as full training and ongoing professional development will be provided.

The successful Qualified Teacher (QTS) will have:

• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
• Experience teaching within a UK school setting
• Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills
• A passion for supporting students with additional learning needs
• The ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons
• A positive, flexible and enthusiastic approach to teaching
