This fully supported programme provides a clear route to achieving both Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) within 12 months, allowing you to develop the skills, confidence, and experience needed to thrive in the classroom. About the Role This is a salaried teacher training position rather than a traditional university-led route. From September, you will become a valued member of our Maths department, gradually progressing from observation and supported teaching to leading your own lessons. Throughout the year, you will receive expert guidance from experienced teachers and mentors while completing your formal teacher training qualification. Your Training Journey September – December Develop your classroom confidence through lesson observations, supported teaching, and guided practice. You will build your understanding of effective teaching, behaviour management, and student assessment. January – March Take increasing responsibility for lesson planning and delivery, supported by regular feedback and coaching. You will continue developing your teaching style and subject pedagogy. April – July Lead classes independently while refining your practice and completing the final requirements for your PGCE and QTS. You will finish the year ready to transition into a qualified teaching role.
