Help every learner achieve their potential.

Are you an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant who is passionate about making a meaningful difference to the lives of children with additional needs?

We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and compassionate HLTA to join our supportive team in Coventry. This is a rewarding opportunity to work alongside experienced teachers and SEND professionals, helping to deliver personalised learning that enables every student to flourish academically, socially and emotionally.

You'll play a vital role in supporting students with a range of additional needs, working both independently and collaboratively to create an inclusive, engaging and nurturing learning environment.

The Role

Working under the guidance of teaching staff and the SEND team, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality learning activities through one-to-one, small group and, where appropriate, whole-class support.
  • Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a named pupil throughout the school day, including break and lunchtime supervision.
  • Support the delivery of personalised learning programmes tailored to individual needs and EHCP outcomes.
  • Act as a Key Worker, building positive relationships with students, parents, carers and colleagues.
  • Work closely with the SENDCo, Learning Support Coordinator and specialist staff to implement effective support strategies.
  • Provide enhanced supervision where required, including support during educational visits, swimming and other off-site activities.
  • Encourage students to develop confidence, independence and a positive attitude towards learning.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment where every child can succeed.

About You

We're looking for someone who is caring, adaptable and committed to helping children reach their full potential.

You'll ideally have:

  • HLTA status or an equivalent qualification and experience (such as an NVQ Level 4 or Level 5).
  • Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs, ideally within a SEND or specialist educational setting.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding responsibilities, SEND legislation and inclusive educational practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, families and colleagues.
  • The confidence to work independently while also contributing positively as part of a wider team.
  • A resilient, proactive and flexible approach to supporting students with a wide range of learning and communication needs.

Why Join Us?

We believe that exceptional staff create exceptional outcomes for students, so we invest in your professional development and wellbeing.

When you join us, you'll benefit from:

  • Competitive salary of £25,000-£28,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications.
  • Term time only working, supporting a healthy work-life balance.
  • A supportive and collaborative team environment.
  • Motivated, respectful students who are keen to learn.
  • Modern, technology-enabled learning environments.
  • Excellent professional development opportunities through our Global Teacher Academy.
  • Genuine opportunities for career progression and development.
  • A strong focus on staff wellbeing with limited out-of-hours commitments.
  • An innovative self-directed learning approach that empowers students to become confident, independent learners.
  • Opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across the UK and internationally, sharing best practice and developing professionally.
  • Staff referral scheme.

If you're passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and are looking to join a forward-thinking, inclusive school community where your work will have a lasting impact, we'd love to hear from you.
