SEN Teacher - Specialist SEND School

Specialist SEND School | Full-Time | Long-Term Opportunity

£1,000 - £1,350 per week | September Start

Are you an enthusiastic and compassionate teacher looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people with complex additional needs?

Do you thrive in a highly collaborative environment where education, therapy and personalised support work together to help every pupil achieve their potential?

Would you enjoy teaching within a specialist setting that values creativity, communication and developing independence as much as academic progress?

A well-established specialist SEND school is seeking a dedicated Teacher to join its experienced team from September. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a nurturing, multidisciplinary environment supporting pupils aged 4-19 with a range of moderate to severe learning difficulties, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), communication needs, physical disabilities and additional complex needs.

The school provides a highly personalised curriculum designed around each pupil's EHCP, enabling learners to develop academically, socially and emotionally whilst building confidence, communication and independence. Staff work closely alongside therapists, support staff, families and external professionals to ensure every child receives a consistent, holistic approach to learning and wellbeing.

As a Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, highly differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of your class. You will create a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment where pupils feel supported, valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in helping pupils make meaningful progress towards their EHCP outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering highly differentiated lessons tailored to individual EHCP outcomes.
  • Teaching pupils with a range of complex SEND including learning difficulties, Autism, communication needs and physical disabilities.
  • Creating engaging, structured and inclusive classroom environments that promote confidence, independence and positive behaviour.
  • Monitoring pupil progress through ongoing assessment and adapting teaching to maximise outcomes.
  • Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists, families and external professionals.
  • Contributing to EHCP reviews, annual reviews and personalised learning plans.
  • Promoting communication, emotional wellbeing, life skills and independence throughout the curriculum.
  • Using positive behaviour support strategies and therapeutic approaches to meet individual needs.
  • Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, wellbeing and professional practice.
  • Contributing positively to the wider life of the school and supporting whole-school improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching within a specialist SEND or inclusive educational setting.
  • A strong understanding of Autism, learning difficulties, communication needs and highly differentiated teaching.
  • Experience supporting pupils with EHCPs and working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
  • A nurturing, patient and adaptable approach to supporting children with complex needs.
  • A genuine passion for inclusive education and improving outcomes for young people with SEND.

In return, the school offers:

  • Competitive weekly pay of £1,000 - £1,350, depending on experience.
  • A welcoming and highly supportive leadership team.
  • Excellent opportunities for ongoing CPD and career progression.
  • A collaborative multidisciplinary environment where staff wellbeing is valued.
  • The opportunity to make a lasting difference to the lives of children and young people with complex SEND.

If you're an enthusiastic SEND Teacher looking for your next opportunity within a specialist setting, we'd love to hear from you.
