STEM Teacher – The Role

As a STEM Teacher, you will inspire students across Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics disciplines, helping to develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a passion for innovation.

Depending on your specialism and the school's requirements, you may teach within Mathematics, Science, Computing, Engineering, or a combination of STEM-related subjects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, high-quality STEM lessons
  • Supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with Key Stage 5 opportunities available
  • Monitoring, assessing, and tracking student progress
  • Encouraging curiosity, creativity, and analytical thinking
  • Supporting extracurricular STEM activities and enrichment programmes
  • Contributing to curriculum development and departmental initiatives
  • Maintaining high standards of teaching, learning, and behaviour

STEM Teacher – Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or currently completing teacher training
  • A degree in a STEM-related subject (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Computing, or similar)
  • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for STEM education
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • A commitment to achieving outstanding outcomes for students
  • ECTs and experienced teachers are welcome to apply
  • Applicants must live within approximately one hour's commute of SE9 1BJ or be willing to relocate to South East London
