Technical Sales Engineer

Location: St Neots
Salary: £25,000 – £35,000 per year (DOE)
Job Type: Full-time, on-site (Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm)

The Role

We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Technical Sales Engineer to join our team in St Neots. This role is ideal for someone with a strong engineering background who enjoys problem-solving, working hands-on with mechanical components, and supporting customers with technical solutions.

You will be a key point of contact for both new and existing customers, providing expert advice, troubleshooting issues, recommending products, managing stock and procurement, and ensuring the smooth handling of orders from enquiry through to delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide knowledgeable technical support and guidance on bearings and related mechanical components.

• Build, develop, and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.

• Identify customer requirements and recommend suitable products or engineering solutions.

• Prepare quotations, process orders, and support procurement and stock control activities.

• Work closely with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and competitive pricing.

• Support the sales team with technical insights, product information, and training when required.

• Contribute to improving customer service, internal processes, and operational efficiency.

About You

• Background in engineering or industrial maintenance (essential).

• Strong understanding of bearings, mechanical components, or similar engineering products (essential).

• Experience with procurement and stock management processes.

• Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused, consultative approach.

• Confident using IT systems for sales processing, CRM, and inventory management.

• Full, clean UK driving licence.
