We are seeking a new Service Manager to lead a unique service in the heart of Rainham, Kent. This is an exciting opportunity for someone that wants to make a tangible impact on a person’s life, supporting a good team to provide good support.
Our team are supporting a male adult with learning disabilities, who enjoys a variety of activities at home and in the community, including swimming, walking, bowling, meals out and drinks at the local pub and much more. He works closely with his team to engage in as much of his daily life as possible. He can find some things a challenge, which is sometimes reflected in his behaviour, and has PICA so needs his environment to reflect his safety needs.
It is very important for him that the new Service Manager has a fun, positive and can-do attitude!

The ideal Service Manager looks like this:
⦁ Have a genuine desire to help, develop and maintain high quality service provision for the person we support in this service appropriate to their assessed needs. This is inclusive of the specific support needs around PICA.
⦁ Has the skills and commitment to coaching and developing a team, with an emphasis on Practice Leadership with to develop and align practice.
⦁ Has knowledge of alternative and augmentative communication systems e.g. ‘sign-a-long’ skills.
⦁ Understands the balance between keeping the person safe and positive risk taking.
⦁ Has knowledge of the legal framework that apply in this service (e.g. DoLS, capacity and best interest requirements)
⦁ Level 5 diploma or equivalent experience.
⦁ Qualification in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) level 3 or BILD course desirable or must be willing to complete a diploma within 18 months of employment.
