What We're Looking For

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent
  • Significant experience working with children and young people with EBD and complex needs
  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager within a children's residential setting
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, Quality Standards and safeguarding
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a staff team
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
  • Strong understanding of care planning, risk assessments and behaviour support
  • Genuine commitment to improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for the management and day-to-day operation of the 3-bed EBD children's home
  • Lead the home to provide safe, nurturing, therapeutic and child-centred care
  • Register the service with Ofsted and maintain compliance with relevant regulations and legislation
  • Provide strong, inspirational leadership to the staff team
  • Develop and maintain robust care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support strategies
  • Lead staff recruitment, training, supervision and performance management
  • Maintain effective occupancy levels and support responsible budget management
  • Promote high standards of safeguarding, equality and care
  • Work closely with placing authorities, social workers, external professionals and families
  • Monitor the quality of care and drive continuous improvement
  • Ensure the home delivers positive outcomes for children and young people
  • Maintain strong regulatory and quality standards in preparation for Ofsted inspection
