MHE & Warehouse Safety Trainer

Wigan
£17.16 per hour | 37.5 hours per week | Circa £33,500 per annum
Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm

Some flexibility will be required for occasional evening training.

We are recruiting for an experienced MHE & Warehouse Safety Trainer to join a busy warehouse and manufacturing operation in Wigan.

This is a hands-on, floor-based position supporting approximately 50-60 warehouse operators. You'll be responsible for delivering practical MHE training, assessing operator competence and making sure standards remain high long after the initial training has been completed.

You won't just be delivering courses and signing paperwork - you'll be visible on the warehouse floor, observing operators, identifying training needs and stepping in with coaching or refresher training where required.

What you'll be doing

• Deliver practical MHE training across Counterbalance, PPT, VNA and Bendi/Flexi trucks

• Train and assess new and existing warehouse operators

• Deliver refresher and reassessment training

• Assess operators' practical ability, safety awareness and overall competence

• Regularly observe trained operators to ensure standards continue to be maintained

• Identify where additional coaching or retraining is required

• Maintain accurate training records, certificates and operator documentation

• Make sure training records are fully up to date with no gaps or missing information

• Work closely with Warehouse Management and Health & Safety teams

• Challenge unsafe working practices and poor standards when required

• Remain hands-on, approachable and visible across the warehouse floor

What we're looking for

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• A recognised MHE Trainer / Instructor qualification

• Previous experience working within a warehouse, manufacturing or logistics environment

• Experience delivering practical MHE training and assessing operators

• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and safe MHE practices

• Confidence working directly with a large number of warehouse operators

• Strong attention to detail when managing training records and documentation

• The confidence to assess capability and challenge unsafe or poor working practices

• Flexibility to support occasional training outside of the normal 8:00am - 4:00pm hours

Experience training on Counterbalance, PPT, VNA and Bendi/Flexi equipment.
