TeacherActive is proud to be working with a SEND provision in Leeds who are looking to appoint a SEND Teaching Assistant. The provision supports Primary and Secondary aged pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism / ASD, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder / ADHD and challenging behaviour, providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

The provision is looking to take on a SEND Teaching Assistant for short-term day-to-day cover, with an immediate start. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will support children and young people across different age groups, helping them engage with learning while providing appropriate academic, social and emotional support based on their individual needs.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification is desired but not essential
• Experience supporting children and young people with SEND
• Experience supporting pupils with Autism / ASD and ADHD
• Experience supporting pupils who display challenging behaviour
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
