TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming mainstream Primary School in Derby that has a dedicated SEN hub for children across EYFS and Key Stage 1 / KS1. The school is looking for a supportive and dependable SEN Teaching Assistant who can help non-verbal pupils feel secure, engaged and included throughout the school day.

This is a part-time, long-term SEN Teaching Assistant position working Tuesday to Thursday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, starting ASAP and continuing until July 2027. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with pupils in the SEN hub, providing individual support with communication, learning activities, engagement and day-to-day development.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• Previous experience supporting children with SEN
• Experience working with children across EYFS and/or Key Stage 1 / KS1
• Experience supporting non-verbal pupils
• A good understanding of different communication and learning needs
• A calm, patient and nurturing approach
• The ability to build positive relationships with children and staff
