We’re currently recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant in Hulme to support secondary schools on a full-time or part-time basis. This SEN Teaching Assistant job in Hulme is ideal for experienced SEN TAs, Learning Support Assistants, graduates, support workers or anyone with a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs.

You’ll be joining a supportive and inclusive secondary school in Hulme, where inclusion, wellbeing and positive relationships are at the heart of the school community. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to make a genuine difference to students while developing their experience within secondary SEN education.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across KS3 and KS4

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support based on individual learning needs

  • Supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH and other additional needs

  • Working alongside teachers and the wider SEND team to support learning and progress

  • Helping students develop confidence, independence and positive behaviour

  • Supporting classroom engagement and adapting activities where required

  • Building strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff

Requirements or Skills

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN is desirable

  • Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or similar is beneficial

  • A calm, patient and resilient approach

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Confidence supporting pupils with a range of additional needs

  • A proactive and positive attitude

  • Based in or able to commute to Hulme

  • A genuine passion for inclusive education and supporting young people
