Day-to-Day Teaching Assistant – Durham

We are currently recruiting Teaching Assistants to work across a range of Primary Schools in Durham. These roles are on a day-to-day and part-time basis, making them ideal for those who already have a part-time job or are looking for flexible work to fit around other commitments.

As a Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting pupils throughout their learning journey. You'll work closely with class teachers to provide one-to-one and small group support, helping children build confidence, develop key skills and reach their full potential.

Main Responsibilities

• Encourage independence by helping pupils develop communication and self-management skills.
• Provide one-to-one and small group learning support.
• Inspire children to engage positively in lessons.
• Support the class teacher in creating an inclusive learning environment.
• Maintain safeguarding, confidentiality and follow all school policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Education or a related subject (preferred), or equivalent practical experience.
• A positive attitude and genuine enthusiasm for supporting children's learning.
• Patience, adaptability and a calm approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Recent experience working within a school or educational setting (preferred).
