Milk Education is recruiting passionate Psychology Graduates to work in specialist SEN schools across Teesside. This full-time opportunity offers invaluable experience supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs while making a genuine difference to their education and future outcomes.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work alongside experienced teachers and specialist staff, supporting pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD & SLD)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Sensory and physical needs

You will provide one-to-one and small group support, helping pupils access learning, develop confidence, build independence, and achieve their full potential in a supportive and inclusive school environment.

  • Build trusting and professional relationships with pupils
  • Promote communication, independence and social development
  • Work collaboratively with school staff and external professionals
  • Help create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment

What We're Looking For

  • A degree in Psychology or a related subject
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy and resilience
  • A positive, proactive attitude
  • Experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential, including mentoring, tutoring, youth work, coaching, care work or volunteering
