TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school in Bristol to recruit a dedicated HLTA. The school provides a welcoming and inclusive environment for pupils with Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and complex additional needs, encouraging every pupil to achieve their individual goals through personalised learning and a supportive approach.

The school is looking to appoint a full-time HLTA on a long-term basis from September 2026. The successful HLTA will work closely with teachers, therapists and support staff to deliver targeted interventions, lead learning activities for individuals, small groups and whole classes where appropriate, while supporting pupils with complex needs to achieve positive academic, social and emotional outcomes.

The successful HLTA will have:

• HLTA status or relevant equivalent experience
• Experience working within a SEND school or specialist educational setting
• A good understanding of Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
• Experience supporting pupils with complex medical needs and behaviours that challenge
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• A positive, proactive and adaptable approach to supporting children and young people
